OpenAI signed a series of deals in Abu Dhabi on Monday, with state energy firm ADNOC and AI company G42 agreeing to deploy OpenAI’s frontier technology across ADNOC’s operations, making it the first energy company to do so, Reuters reported. OpenAI also signed agreements with wealth fund Mubadala and G42 unit Inception42 covering investment analysis and government use of AI, as it works to raise about $20 billion in a new funding round co-led by UAE investors, according to CNBC. Separately, Marvell Technology agreed to buy optical-components maker Lumentum in a deal valued at $115 billion, one of the biggest of 2026 and a bet that AI data-center spending will keep growing, Reuters reported.
