The Edition No. 12
The US Federal Trade Commission has sent civil subpoenas to OpenAI and Anthropic seeking documents on safety incidents, safeguards, marketing materials and privacy policies, Reuters reported, citing Axios. The demands follow reports of AI models hacking websites and behaving deceptively during testing, and OpenAI said it will engage constructively with the regulator. Separately, attorneys general in eight US states, including Arizona and Iowa, filed lawsuits against OpenAI alleging that ChatGPT is not safe for children and that the company misled parents about its safety.
