The Edition No. 28

OpenAI has cut the target for its latest funding round by $10 billion to about $20 billion and lowered its desired valuation to $1.25 trillion amid a selloff in tech stocks driven by worries over AI spending, the Financial Times reported, with the first close expected to raise less than $20 billion after some investors reduced their allocations. OpenAI, Google, Microsoft and Anthropic pledged to give publishers a single, standardised way to stop their content from being used to train AI models, although Microsoft will only implement it from 1 February 2027 and Google sometime in 2027. Separately, Nvidia is in talks to offer Nscale billions of dollars in credit guarantees for a West Virginia data center earmarked for Anthropic, The Information reported, though the deal has not been signed.
